We're Getting a New Neighbor

Plus, Microchip Madness 2026 is here!

It’s hard to believe that with Memorial Day yesterday and school ending, summer is already upon us. Comer Veterinary Hospital is excited to share that this summer, something new is coming to our city: a sister company to complement our small animal services. Comer Pet Lodge & Spa will be open in the coming months! You may have seen construction underway next door on this brand-new building (and may have gotten caught in our parking lot renovations!). Please be sure to follow the Lodge on social media and bookmark its website so you stay up to date on its opening!

We are hard at work on the back end getting things moving so the Lodge opens as planned. Cheyenne Clark, whom many of you know as one of our vet assistants at Comer Vet and Custom Livestock Solutions, will be the hospitality team guest services manager when the Lodge opens. We will offer day stays, overnight boarding, a self-care pet spa, and professional grooming services. Rates and pricing will be shared soon on the Lodge’s website and social media accounts!

This has been a long time coming and we can’t wait for your pets to experience this expanded level of care. As a Comer Vet pet parent, you can also look forward to certain perks for choosing to let your pets stay or be groomed at the Lodge. Stay tuned for more details as we get things rolling!

Comer Vet Holiday Hours:

  • Friday, July 3 (Independence Day observed): Closing at 1 p.m.

  • Saturday, July 4: CLOSED

Microchip Madness 2026 starts Monday, June 1!

This month at Comer Vet, we want YOU to get your dog or cat microchipped — and to sweeten the pot, we’re doing it at a steep savings of only 25 bucks!

Microchips are a little bit like the “find my iPhone” feature for animals. Each microchip has a unique identification number that will be registered to you as the pet parent. You’ll get a copy of that registration, and we’ll keep one at the clinic. So, say your escape artist cat darts out the door when you walk in with an armload of groceries. If your cat winds up at a stranger’s door later on, they can bring him into a vet clinic to be scanned for a microchip. Your name will come up, and bam! It’s happy reunion time.

Microchips can be put in while your pet is here for an already scheduled appointment, such as a spay/neuter or annual wellness exam. If your pet recently had their annual exam, you can also call us to request just getting a microchip done!

Don’t forget about these ongoing savings!

Meet the Staff: Erica, receptionist

Erica has been a receptionist at Comer Vet for almost a year and a half now, and her exuberant energy is infectious from the moment she walks into the clinic each morning! She’s a familiar face to animal lovers in Madison County from her previous work with our friends at MOAS Pets. In fact, her favorite memories so far have been getting to continue to help care for pets that she first met as shelter surrenders and strays, which now have loving homes with Comer Vet pet parents.

Speaking of community, Erica loves visiting local restaurants in Madison County.

Maggie's Cafe - Comer GA in downtown Comer is a favorite! She also enjoys spending her lunch breaks at nearby Watson Mill Bridge State Park. After work, Erica gets to come home to her half-dozen furry companions: dogs Sammy, Toby, and Mable, and cats Dex, Fynn, and Noel.
