Happy Thanksgiving from the Comer Vet team!
And welcome to our monthly newsletter!

Welcome to our first-ever newsletter from the team at Comer Veterinary Hospital! I am Dr. Tyson Strickland and I am the owner of Comer Vet. Through this newsletter, we are excited to bring you updates from the hospital, insight into current medical cases and events, and showcase our awesome team and their talents!
To start us off, I wanted to introduce myself and how I came to Comer Vet. I graduated from UGA CVM in May of 2016. I met the previous owner, Dr. Leslie Hart Fordham, at a goat sale and she asked if I would be interested in doing some relief work in Comer. Little did I know where that would lead me. After working part-time at Comer Vet for one year, my wife Anna and I found a home in Comer and fell in love with the community here. In 2018, we purchased Comer Vet from Dr. Leslie with the dream to continue building on the great foundation that the practice had for care and community.
Our motto is “Care with Community in Mind” and we strive to put our community first with everything we do. Comer is a special place and we are excited to be part of such an awesome town and local community!
As we come into the holiday season, it is a reminder to me that we have so much to be thankful for. I am thankful for our wonderful team that provides care and works hard every day to make Comer Vet thrive. I am thankful to our friends, customers, patients, and community for the support you give us so we can continue to do what we love providing veterinary care to the local area.
We look forward to seeing you throughout the holidays, too! We will have our pet photos with Santa on December 6 from 3:30 to 5:30 at the hospital. We will also be at the parade on Saturday, December 7, in downtown Comer to enjoy all that this small town has to offer! Thank you again for joining our newsletter and we hope you, your pets, and family have a wonderful holiday season!

Santa's stopping by Comer Veterinary Hospital for an afternoon of community and photo ops on Friday, Dec. 6!
Bring your pets for free photos and enjoy tasty holiday treats! No appointment necessary; please feel free to drop in between 3:30 and 5:30. Professional photos will be taken by our marketing director, and edited + uploaded to a Facebook album before Christmas! You're also welcome to bring your phone for her to use instead.
** If your pet isn't great around other animals, we encourage bringing a muzzle for pups and carriers for cats/exotics to ensure safety of all those attending!
TWO opportunities to win a stocking stuffed full of local goodies this month:

Shhh … it’s time for a sneak peek at the December photo contest!
Newsletter subscribers, rejoice! Our monthly Facebook cover photo contests have been HUGE successes. As a newsletter subscriber, you get an exclusive sneak peek at the theme several weeks in advance of the contest announcement. Exact voting dates will be shared on social media (Facebook and Instagram), but we encourage you to start snapping horizontal photos to send in. The December contest theme will be …
WINTER WONDERLAND!
Entries can be submitted via DM on the Comer Vet Facebook page or Instagram. We can’t wait to see what creative images y’all come up with!
COMING SOON …
Our new marketing director is working behind the scenes with our website developer to start a Comer Vet blog! Though we’ll continue to highlight snippets of pet care-related topics on all of our social media, this will be a place where you can go to learn in-depth about specific diseases and ailments, treatment options, commonly asked questions, exotics husbandry tips, and SO much more. Have an idea of a blog post topic you’d like to see covered? Email Dallas@CustomLivestockSolutions.com to submit a suggestion!
