Comer Vet Spring Savings Inside
Spay/neuter special, discount on preventatives, and an important save-the-date

“Just Shoot It” … with Vaccines!
People always ask me all these questions about vaccines:
“Are they worth it?”
“My dog never leaves the house, why should I?”
“So-and-so said vaccines are dangerous. Can I just skip them this year?”
Vaccines are worth it.
I am a highly cost-conscious person. The cost of vaccines is minimal to the cost of treatment or loss if your animal ends up contracting one of the multiple diseases we vaccinate for. Not only are they cost-effective, but they are also safe and easy to administer. Diseases like parvo, distemper, and lepto are seen at Comer Vet, and can be very expensive to treat, as well as end in loss of life in many cases. Rabies has no treatment and is fatal. Not only is this a huge risk to your animals, but if they get rabies, then it's a huge risk to you, too. And, rabies is required by Georgia law for all cats, dogs, and ferrets!
I cannot recommend vaccines enough for your pets! Give us a call today at 706 783 5111, or request an appointment right here through our website to get your pets up-to-date with their vaccines.

Calling all Comer Vet pet parents: your pet might be eligible for a discount on its spay/neuter surgery this month!
In March, we’re offering 10% off spay and neuter procedures for established* Comer Vet patients that are younger than 11 months and weigh less than 50 pounds.
*Established patients are those that have updated annual wellness exam records on file. Want to take advantage of this special, but need to get your pet set up with us first? Call now to schedule their annual wellness exam and mention you'd like to discuss scheduling a March spay/neuter during the visit!
Please note, this discount applies to the spay or neuter procedure itself. Anesthesia, other medications, and other related services are not included in this month's special.
Wait. Even more March savings?!

Comer Vet After Hours

Blame it all on our roots, we showed up in boots, and ruined your black-tie affair! The 2026 Madison County Chamber annual dinner was a night to remember for the Comer Vet team. The folks seated at our table loved the ‘90s country-inspired tablescape, and we were honored to be a hospitality sponsor for the evening. But the highlight of our night? That would be seeing BOTH Dr. Strickland and his wife Anna take home awards! Dr. Strickland was named Business Person of the Year for 2025, and Anna, former Chamber president and now-owner of Harper and Mary Strategies, became the first-ever recipient of the Leading Lady Award. We are so proud!
![]() | Comer Vet loves the Rock Lobsters! Dr. Chamlee and Dallas, our marketing director, spent the morning of Feb. 18 at Akins Ford Arena giving more than 3,000 local grade school students a taste of life as a small animal veterinarian. They showed off various tools of the trade, answered questions, and gave out coloring sheets featuring some of our vet team! |
Meet the Staff: Hollie, certified vet assistant and vet tech student
![]() | Vet assistant Hollie has been part of the Comer Vet team for more than five years! She is a pet mom to a Great Dane named Sutt Butt, a bottle-raised kitten named Wednesday, a sheep called Tuck and two goats, Reggie and Ash. With so much experience loving on animals, Hollie says it’s hard to choose just one memorable case to share with y’all. Overall, she says her parvo cases have been the most significant. She remembers each one of them when they come in now after recovery! That’s what our motto, “Care with Community in Mind”, means to Hollie: treating patients |
as if they’re her own, and connecting with their owners to establish relationships. As she pursues the next phase in her career, becoming a vet tech, Hollie says she has multiple family and friends who inspire her to achieve her goals in life and in veterinary medicine.
